UAN Number: To benefit from the EPFO’s Employment Linked Incentive (ELI) Scheme or to monitor your Provident Fund (PF) account, it is essential to activate your Universal Account Number (UAN). This activation must be completed by March 15. Without UAN activation, employees will be unable to access the advantages of the ELI scheme.

Extension of the deadline for UAN activation

The Employees Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has announced an extension of the deadline for UAN activation and the linking of bank accounts with Aadhaar until March 15, 2025. This update was communicated in a recent circular from the Ministry of Labor and Employment. The deadline for UAN activation has been extended multiple times previously, with the last date being February 15, 2025. The Employment Linked Incentive (ELI) scheme was introduced by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman during the Union Budget of July 2024, aiming to enhance employment opportunities in the country and support workers in the organized sector.

The scheme comprises three versions: A, B, and C. Version A targets employees who are enrolling in the EPF scheme for the first time, while Version B is specifically designed to foster employment in the manufacturing sector. Version C aims to assist employers in hiring additional staff.
