QR PAN Card 2.0: The Income Tax Department has recently launched the new PAN 2.0 system for individuals with PAN cards. This initiative will simplify and expedite the process of issuing and updating PAN cards and TAN. Going forward, PAN card holders can conveniently change their address and other information online without incurring any fees. Nonetheless, if you wish to request a physical copy of the PAN card, you will need to pay a charge of Rs 50.
PAN card holders can change their old address to a new one
The Income Tax Department states that PAN card holders can change their old address to a new one at no charge. It is important to highlight that this service is intended for PAN card holders with their PAN linked to Aadhaar. Once the address is modified in the PAN record, an e-PAN containing a QR code will be emailed to you. Additionally, if you wish to request a print of the PAN card, a fee of Rs 50 will apply.
Holders of PAN cards can utilize two primary platforms to modify their information: NSDL and UTI ITSL. If the PAN card is connected to Aadhaar, the PAN card address can be conveniently updated online through Aadhaar. You need to adhere to a few straightforward steps to finish this procedure.
Know the process step by step:
- Visit the appropriate link (NSDL or UTI ITSL)
- Provide your PAN, Aadhaar, and Date of Birth.
- Provide your mobile number and email address to get the OTP.
- Finish e-KYC using OTP
- Confirm and revise address information.
Under PAN 2.0, holders of old PAN cards are not required to obtain a new PAN card unless they choose to request an update or correction. The previous PAN cards will continue to be entirely valid.
