Economic independence is very important for the progress of women. The central and state governments also understand this well. That is why various state governments run several schemes to provide financial assistance to women. The ‘Ladli Behna Yojana’ launched by the Madhya Pradesh government is one such scheme.
Recently, the state government made a shocking announcement. It has decided to remove the names of 1.63 lakh women from the Ladli Behna Yojana. Let’s find out why the government has taken this big decision.
Why Are Names Being Removed from the Ladli Behna Yojana?
According to the Madhya Pradesh government, only 2 crore 47 lakh women will benefit from the Ladli Behna Yojana (CM Ladli Behna Yojana). The government has stated that 1.63 lakh women will be removed from the scheme. This decision is based on the eligibility rules of the scheme, which state that only women between the ages of 18 and 60 are eligible for the benefits. There are 1.63 lakh women in the scheme whose age has surpassed 60 years, which is why their names will be removed.
Next Installment of Ladli Behna Yojana
The Madhya Pradesh government’s Ladli Behna Yojana provides financial assistance of Rs 1250 per month to women in the state. Many women currently enrolled in the scheme are eagerly awaiting the next instalment. The government has announced that the next instalment will be credited to women’s accounts on January 10, 2024.
