Big news for ration card holders. Govt officials say, Ration cards will be temporarily blocked if e-KYC is not done. Rajiv Sharma, the District Controller for Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, announced that the district is linking ration cards to Aadhaar cards through the e-KYC process to ensure that all eligible beneficiaries are identified and can access government schemes.

Currently, e-KYC has been completed for 325,955 consumers in the district, while the process is still pending for others. He mentioned that ration cards for those who have not completed e-KYC will be temporarily blocked.

Rajiv Sharma encouraged all ration card holders to complete their e-KYC as soon as possible. Consumers can easily finish this process at home by downloading the ‘e-KYC PDS HP’ app from the Google Play Store, entering their ration card and Aadhaar numbers, and verifying their identity through face recognition. Alternatively, they can visit their nearest fair price shop or Lokmitra Kendra to complete the e-KYC using biometric verification.

For further assistance, individuals can reach out to the department’s toll-free number 1967 or call the District Controller Office at 01975-226016. Additionally, they can contact the relevant Block Inspectors: Rajni Kalia in Una at 78760-89019, Deepak Sharma in Haroli at 86279-08080, Naresh Kumar in Bangana at 86279-08080, and Saroj Kumar in Amb and Gagret at 94595-27954.

Rajiv Sharma also emphasized that the department will not be making phone calls regarding the e-KYC process and will not request any OTPs.
