After Union Budget, there is a major setback for everyone. New LPG cylinder rates were announced today, Saturday, March 1. Unfortunately, the relief we saw during the budget has been taken away, as the price of the 19 kg commercial LPG cylinder has gone up. It’s now Rs 6 more expensive from Delhi to Kolkata.
Looking at the price changes for commercial LPG cylinders in March over the past five years, this increase is actually the smallest we’ve seen on March 1. For instance, in 2023, the price shot up by Rs 352 in one go, according to Indian Oil’s data.
On budget day, there was a slight relief of Rs 7 for the 19 kg commercial LPG cylinder, but since August 1, 2024, the price of the 14 kg domestic gas cylinder has remained unchanged.
As for the latest rates from Indian Oil, the price of a 19 kg LPG cylinder in Delhi is now Rs 1803, up from Rs 1797 in February and Rs 1804 in January. In Kolkata, the same cylinder will cost Rs 1913, which is a slight increase from Rs 1907 in February.
The cost of an LPG cylinder in Mumbai has gone up again to Rs 1755.50. It was Rs 1749.50 back in February and Rs 1756 in January. Meanwhile, the price of the 19 kg blue cylinder in Kolkata has also changed, now sitting at Rs 1965.50, compared to Rs 1959.50 in February and Rs 1966 in January.
As for domestic LPG cylinder prices, in Delhi, the 14 kg cylinder is still priced at Rs 803 as of March 1, 2025. In Lucknow, a 14 kg cylinder will set you back Rs 840.50, while a 19 kg commercial cylinder costs Rs 1918. In Kolkata, the LPG cylinder is priced at Rs 829, in Mumbai it’s Rs 802.50, and in Chennai, it’s Rs 818.50.
