Ahead of Mahakumbh, the state govt makes big decisions. Apart from electric buses of Lucknow, the capital of UP, will also run for the convenience of devotees in Mahakumbh 2025. All 50 buses set to operate as shuttle services will be brand new. They’re scheduled to head to Prayagraj in the first week of January.
The Transport Corporation is also kicking off a shuttle service for the Prayagraj Mahakumbh, with 350 buses dedicated to the Mahakumbh area. Orders have been placed for buses from various regions to arrive in Prayagraj. So far, 40 new buses have made it to the capital, and 10 more are on the way. Once they arrive, the buses will be dispatched.
These buses will stay in Prayagraj for two months
After the Mahakumbh, these buses will be rerouted to areas with high passenger demand. Additionally, 35 electric buses from the capital are also being sent for the Maha Kumbh, and they will operate in the Kumbh area.
There will be 400 buses running daily
On top of that, 400 buses from the Lucknow area will regularly travel to and from Prayagraj. RK Tripathi, the Roadways Regional Manager, mentioned that all preparations for sending buses to the Mahakumbh are finalized. They’ll comply as soon as they get the go-ahead. All drivers and conductors have been told to wear their uniforms and treat passengers kindly.
Transport Minister Dayashankar Singh has suggested that devotional music be played on all Transport Corporation buses. A review meeting was held at the Transport Corporation headquarters in Prayagraj to ensure smooth and safe transport arrangements for Mahakumbh-2025, chaired by Dayashankar Singh.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has instructed officials to prepare for the launch of online services for the Transport Department and the Transport Corporation app on the birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna and former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
