Ahead of Delhi Assembly Election 2025, The Delhi government takes a big decision. The government has mandated the closure of liquor stores and other venues that serve alcohol in the city from February 3 to 5, coinciding with polling days, and continuing until the results are announced on February 8.

A notification was issued

According to a recent gazette notification from the Delhi Excise Commissioner, the polling and counting days for the 70-member Delhi Assembly have been designated as “dry days” in accordance with the Excise Rules-2010 for various excise licenses.

The dry day will be in effect from 6 pm on February 3 until 6 pm on February 5, covering the 48 hours leading up to the end of the polling period, with February 8 set as the counting day. During this time, the sale of alcohol will be prohibited in shops, hotels, restaurants, and clubs.

This includes non-owned clubs, star-rated hotels, and individually operated restaurants, regardless of the various licenses they may hold for storing and supplying liquor.
