The Uttar Pradesh government launched the Chief Minister’s Progressive Animal Husbandry Promotion Scheme in 2023. Under this scheme, cowkeepers will receive a grant of Rs 40,000 for purchasing up to two Indigenous cows. Additionally, an incentive of Rs 10,000 to Rs 15,000 will be provided for milk production from each cow.
The initiative aims to boost the income of cowkeepers, promote self-reliance, and encourage the adoption of Indigenous breeds. The scheme is part of the Nand Baba Milk Mission, which also includes the Chief Minister’s Indigenous Cow-Samvardhan Yojana and Nandani Krishak Samriddhi Yojana.
