Recently, Prime Minister Narendra Modi attended the ‘Sashakt Nari-Vikasit Bharat’ program at the National Agricultural Research Institute in Pusa, Delhi. He watched a demonstration of drones used in agriculture by the ‘NaMo Drone Didis’. During the event, the Prime Minister also handed over drones to more than 1,000 ‘NaMo Drone Didis’. NaMo Drone Didis Participated from 11 Different Locations

During this event, ‘NaMo Drone Didis’ from 11 different locations across the country also took part in the program. On this occasion, the Prime Minister honored ‘Lakhpati Didis’ who have achieved success through the Deen Dayal Antyodaya Yojana-National Rural Livelihood Mission. These women are now helping and encouraging other self-help group members for their growth.

Loans provided at Concessional Interest Rates

The Prime Minister also sanctioned loans worth approximately eight thousand crore rupees to self-help groups at concessional interest rates. These loans are being provided by banks through Bank Sampark Camps set up in each district. An official statement earlier mentioned that the ‘NaMo Drone Didi’ and ‘Lakhpati Didi’ programs are crucial steps in the Prime Minister’s vision to promote economic empowerment and financial independence for women, especially in rural areas.

15,000 Rupees Monthly Assistance During Training

The NaMo Drone Didi Scheme was launched by the Modi government in 2023. Its aim is to empower women by training them in advanced agricultural technology. Under this scheme, the government has set a target to distribute fifteen thousand drones to women associated with self-help groups. Women will be trained to fly drones, and during their training period, they will receive fifteen thousand rupees per month as financial assistance.
