What is Namo Drone Didi Yojana?

Launched in 2023, Namo Drone Didi Yojana is a central government project aimed at training women to operate drones. The goal is to help women use drones in agriculture to monitor crops, apply pesticides, and use other modern agricultural technologies.

This project aims to train 15,000 women from self-help groups. The main objectives are to increase the use of drone technology in agriculture and create new employment opportunities for women.

What Benefits Will You Get?

Under this government project, selected women will receive 15 days of free training. After completing the training, they will be able to work as drone operators and use advanced technology in agriculture.

The training will cover the following subjects:

  • How to operate drones
  • How to monitor crops
  • How to spray pesticides and other solutions

The government has allocated Rs 1261 crore for this project, which will be implemented through Agricultural Science Centers across the country.

Who Can Apply?

Women who are members of self-help groups and are between the ages of 18 and 45 years can apply for this scheme.

How to Apply?

Currently, there is no online application portal for this scheme. However, interested women can apply offline through their local self-help group. To apply, they must contact the local agriculture office or the leadership of the self-help group. Drone technology is becoming increasingly important in improving agriculture in India. This scheme will not only empower women but also create new employment opportunities for them.
