What is the purpose of the National Scholarship Portal(NSP)?
Students are informed about all the scholarship schemes on the National Scholarship Portal run by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology of the Central Government. On this portal, students can get complete information about the scheme from national level to state level.
On this portal, completely different scheme for poor, disabled students, scholarship scheme is given about UGC level scheme. The registration process for the Pre Matric Post Matric Scholarship Scheme is going to start soon on this portal. SBC, OBC, minority students can take advantage of this scheme. The application process on this portal will begin in March this year.
Who can apply?
- Only SC, OBC, minority and differently-abled students can apply on the National Scholarship Portal.
- The benefit of Pre Matric Post Matric Scholarship will be given only to those students whose annual family income is less than 350000.
- Under this scheme, only those students who have secured 55% marks in class VII can apply.
- Scheduled caste, tribe students can apply under this scheme after getting 50% marks.
- Students can apply under this scheme only after getting 60% marks in class X and XII.
How can I apply?
- To apply on the National Scholarship Portal released by the Central Government, students have to first visit the official website of the National Scholarship Portal.
- Here the student has to complete the registration process once.
- After this, the application form of your selected scholarship scheme will have to be filled and all the required documents have to be scanned and uploaded.
- Finally, the student has to submit the application form by clicking on the submit button.
- Students can apply on this portal between March 1 and April 15.
- If the student is eligible for the scholarship, he/she will be given financial support from the government.
