It will reduce the delay in manual toll collection. According to the report, those who do not have FASTag.

They will have to pay double the toll. They must pay by cash, credit or debit card or UPI. This means that having a fasting on every vehicle is very important. This rule has been implemented by the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI). It is promoting digital payment across the country.

Along with this, it is gradually removing manual toll. The government has already issued its notification. At the same time, school buses, light motor vehicles and state transport buses have been exempted from FASTag at five main points in Mumbai.

Technology will be strengthened.

The government had challenged this policy in the Bombay High Court regarding the difficulties in changing to digital payment. It is unfair to those who are not digitally literate. The court upheld it and said that it does not violate the rights of vehicle owners.
