Great news for rail passengers. Now you do not have to take food with you to go anywhere by train. Because the railway has made a great arrangement. Many travelers prefer to bring homemade meals when taking the train because they are unsure about the type and quality of food available during their journey. Purchasing food from unauthorized vendors can lead to health issues.

However, there’s some positive news for these passengers! Five stations in the Agra division have been recognized as Right Eat stations, ensuring that you can enjoy your meals there without any concerns about quality. This is a promise from the railways.

As stated by the Public Relations Officer of the Agra Division of North Central Railway, the stations of Agra Fort, Dholpur, Kosikala, Mathura Junction, and Achhnera Junction have all achieved the Eat Right Station status. Additionally, Agra Cantt station was awarded this status in 2023. This certification comes from the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India.

Here’s how the certification process works:

The authority has launched the Sahi Bhojan Behtar Jeevan Yojana. Under this initiative, food-selling establishments that meet the required standards are evaluated based on applications submitted by them. Inspections are conducted by designated officials, including Prayagraj’s A K Poddar and Food Safety Officer Janak Singh from the Railway Medical Department.

The testing was carried out by an independent audit. Based on their findings, the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India issues the Eat Right Station certificate.

This is a plus for travelers

Once the certificate is obtained, it guarantees that the food at these stations meets quality standards. There’s no room for carelessness. So, passengers can feel good about purchasing food from certified stations.
