It’s needed for everything from getting a SIM card to opening a bank account, enrolling in schools or colleges, and even for business purposes. This 12-digit card holds all your important details like biometric data, name, address, and date of birth. Plus, you can access various government services with it.
If you’re not thrilled with your Aadhaar photo, you’re not alone. Many people want to update theirs, especially if it’s outdated or unclear. The good news is that changing your photo is pretty straightforward.
You’ll need to handle this in person. To update your Aadhaar photo, head to the nearest Aadhaar center.
Here’s what you need to do:
1. Visit the UIDAI website at uidai.gov.in and log in.
2. Download the Aadhaar enrollment form.
3. Print it out and fill it in carefully.
4. Submit the completed form at your local Aadhaar Enrollment or Service Center.
5. At the center, they’ll take your biometric information, including your fingerprint and iris scan.
6. Once your biometrics are verified, they’ll snap a new live photo to replace the old one.
7. There’s a fee of Rs 100 for changing the photo.
When will the photo be updated?
Your Aadhaar card photo won’t change right away; it usually takes a few days for the update to process. When you update your photo at the Aadhaar center, you’ll receive a slip along with a Unique Reference Number (URN). This slip will contain a number and a link that allows you to track the status of your application.
Where can I download the card from?
1. After your photo has been updated, you can download your Aadhaar card from the UIDAI website.
2. Start by visiting the official UIDAI website at uidai.gov.in.
3. Choose your preferred language and click on “Get Aadhaar.”
4. Next, select the option for “Aadhaar Download Online.”
5. This will open the MyAadhaar window, where you’ll need to log in.
6. To log in, enter your Aadhaar number and the captcha code.
7. An OTP will be sent to your registered mobile number for verification.
8. Use the OTP to log in, and a new window for downloading your Aadhaar will appear.
9. Once you click on it, you’ll see your Aadhaar card’s demographic details, including your name, date of birth, and address.
10. Scroll down the screen, and you’ll find the option to download your Aadhaar at the bottom.
11. Click on it, and your Aadhaar card will be downloaded in PDF format.
