PAN 2.0: During the 25th of November 2024 cabinet meeting, Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired the approval of the Income Tax Department’s PAN 2.0 project by the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA). In this case, the PAN number will stay unchanged for current users, but they can upgrade the card without any cost, and any PAN card user or holder can request an upgrade. This new PAN 2.0 will feature a QR code and will be more advanced, secure, and without any duplication compared to the previous PAN card.

If you ask for your PAN through email, this service can be provided at no cost. The updated PAN 2.0 will be sent to your email address at no cost. You can receive your new PAN card at no cost via your email address.
Know the steps:
In order to obtain a new PAN card that includes a QR code, you must go to the NSDL’s official website at https://www.onlineservices.nsdl.com/paam/requestAndDownloadEPAN.html.
Once you click on the provided link, make sure to input all necessary details such as PAN card information, PAN number, Aadhar card date of birth, etc. in the designated fields.
Following this, select the checkbox and proceed with submitting.
A fresh webpage will appear where you need to review your information meticulously to ensure accurate data transmission.
Following that, click on the button to receive OTP.
Finish the validation process by inputting the OTP that was sent to the registered mobile number.
Once the entire process is finished, PAN Card 2.0 will be emailed to your registered email ID within 30 minutes.
