The government has authorized two agencies to issue the new PAN cards. These agencies are Protean (formerly known as NSDL e-Governance) and UTI Infrastructure Technology and Services Limited (UTIITSL). To identify which agency to contact for a PAN card reprint with a QR code, check the back of your current PAN card.
How to Apply for a PAN Card with a QR Code
Steps to Apply for a PAN Card Reprint with QR Code via Protean (formerly NSDL):
Step 1: Open the official website: https://www.onlineservices.nsdl.com/paam/ReprintEPan.html.
Step 2: Enter your PAN, Aadhaar (for individuals only), and date of birth. Check the required tick box and click on “Submit.”
Step 3: A new webpage will appear where you can review your details as per the Income Tax Department’s records. You will also get the option to receive a One-Time Password (OTP) on your mobile, email, or both. Select the tick box to send the PAN card to the communication address registered with the Income Tax Department. Click on “Generate OTP.”
Step 4: An OTP will be sent to your chosen option (mobile or email). The OTP is valid for 10 minutes. Enter the OTP and click on “Validate.”
Step 5: After OTP validation, the payment option will appear. A fee of ₹50 is required for the PAN card reprint with a QR code. Select the checkbox for “I agree to the terms of service” and click “Submit.”
Step 6: A payment page will open where you must pay ₹50. After completing the payment, you will receive an acknowledgement receipt. The e-PAN will be available for download on the NSDL website after 24 hours, and the physical PAN card will be delivered to your address within 15-20 days.
