A common question among many is whether receiving a new PAN card will render the old PAN card invalid or unusable.
Previous PAN card remains valid
In this regard, the Income Tax Department stated that the previous PAN card lacking a QR code remains valid. In addition to this, PAN card holders can easily make corrections or upgrades to their PAN card at no cost. We want to inform you that there is no need to pay any extra charge for the new PAN card, which is the one that features a QR code. Holders of PAN cards can request this card via their email address. We will explain how to receive a PAN card with a QR code sent to your email address. We should inform you that this card is also referred to as the e-PAN Card.
Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav announced that the updated PAN card will feature a QR code. This code will include all the required details of the PAN holder. This card is entirely digital and operates on an online platform. We want to inform you that following the rollout of PAN 2.0, the PAN data vault system will also be put into action.

- First of all click on this link https://www.onlineservices.nsdl.com/paam/requestAndDownloadEPAN.html.
- Now you have to fill your PAN number, Aadhar number, date of birth.
- After that tick the applicable box and submit.
- Now it will be shown to you on a new screen. Check all your details in it and submit.
- After this you will get OTP. Enter the OTP and click on Proceed.
- Now you have to select the payment mode and click on proceed.
- After confirming the payment amount, you have to select Continue.
- After this, e-PAN will come on your mail ID.
