Very good news is waiting for pensioners. The Jammu and Kashmir government is looking to boost the pension for disabled individuals from Rs 1,000 to Rs 3,000. This update was shared by Health and Social Welfare Minister Sakina Itoo on Sunday. She mentioned that Rs 1,000 is quite a small amount, and the increase aims to ease the financial strain on families caring for differently-abled members.
The Umar-led administration is focused on addressing all concerns of the public, particularly those of the differently-abled community. They are actively working on a proposal to raise the disability pension to Rs 3,000 per month, which is currently in the pipeline.
The Minister has promised that they are moving quickly to finalize this increase from Rs 1,000 to Rs 3,000. During a visit to an artificial limb camp organized by the Shri Atma Vallabh Jain Clinic at the Brahmin Sabha Parade, she praised the community’s efforts in helping others and assured her support for future initiatives.
She emphasized the government’s commitment to providing essential resources and support to ensure that disabled individuals can live independently and with dignity.
The Minister made these comments while handing out artificial limbs, crutches, tricycles, and wheelchairs to people with disabilities at the Brahmin Sabha Parade, reiterating that the government will keep prioritizing the needs of the differently-abled.
