Pension Scheme Update: The Jammu and Kashmir government plans to increase the pension amount for disabled individuals from ₹1,000 to ₹3,000. Jammu and Kashmir Health and Social Welfare Minister Sakina Itoo shared this information on Sunday.

Minister Itoo remarked that ₹1,000 is a “small amount” and stated that the proposed increase would help reduce the financial burden on families caring for disabled members.

Speaking to reporters, Itoo said that the Omar Abdullah-led government is committed to addressing the issues faced by the people, particularly the Divyang community. “We are working to increase the Divyang pension from ₹1,000 to ₹3,000 per month,” she said, adding that a proposal for the increase has been submitted and is currently under review.

He assured that the government is working quickly to increase the pension amount from ₹1,000 to ₹3,000, saying, “We will finalize it very soon.”

During his visit to the prosthetic camp organised by Shri Atma Vallabh Jain Clinic at Brahman Sabha Parade, the Minister praised the community for their efforts to serve humanity through such initiatives and promised full support for similar programs in the future.

The Minister stated that the government is committed to providing essential resources and support to Divyang individuals to ensure their independence and dignity.

While distributing prosthetic limbs, crutches, tricycles, and wheelchairs to Divyang persons at Brahman Sabha Parade, Itoo emphasized the government’s focus on their well-being. He assured everyone that the needs of Divyang citizens would continue to be a top priority, with ongoing efforts to improve their quality of life.
