Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya has instructed that the Awas Plus survey under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Gramin should be completed within 20 days. He emphasized that no eligible person should be left out of the survey and that special care should be taken to avoid including ineligible individuals. He also directed that action be taken against complaints and negligence.
The Deputy Chief Minister highlighted that the Government of India’s goal is to provide a concrete roof to every homeless family. He stated that the survey’s deadline of March 31 would not be extended, so it must be completed on time with full transparency and quality.
According to the Rural Development Department, 23.17 lakh families have been surveyed in the state so far through the Awas Plus app. The survey is being conducted by surveyors under the supervision of Block Development Officers. Commissioner of the Rural Development Department, GS Priyadarshi, mentioned that all District Magistrates (DMs) and Chief Development Officers (CDOs) have been given instructions. The department has also issued a toll-free number, 1800-180-4042, for survey-related information.
Appeal to CM to Cancel Decision on Power Company Privatization
The Vidyut Karamchari Samyukta Sangharsh Samiti has accused private companies of failing to provide a proper electricity supply to rural areas and domestic consumers. Citing these failures, the committee has appealed to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to cancel the privatization of power companies in 42 districts.

104 Days of Protest Against Privatization
At the call of the Sangharsh Samiti, electricity workers have been protesting against privatization across the state. Tuesday marked the 104th day of the protest. Workers are upset that despite their continuous protests, the management has not initiated any discussions with them.
Demand to Cancel Privatization Tender
Meanwhile, State Electricity Consumer Council President Awadhesh Kumar Verma has demanded the cancellation of the tender for selecting consultants for privatization. He claimed that a company involved in the tender process is already working in the energy sector in Uttar Pradesh, raising concerns over fairness.
