The central government has started a unique scheme for the poor and middle-class people under which bank accounts of the people are being opened. The name of this scheme is PM Jan Dhan Yojana.
The main objective of this scheme is to open the accounts of those people who are deprived of the schemes of the government. Under this scheme, any person can open his account with zero balance. Many benefits are available from this scheme.
What are the benefits
Under PM Jan Dhan Yojana, accounts of people are opened with zero balance. There is no restriction on keeping a minimum balance in this account. Under this scheme, any amount sent by the government, whether it is PM Kisan money or money for any other facility, reaches directly to their accounts through DBT.
People with PM Jan Dhan accounts have also been given the facility of a Rupee debit card, due to which they do not have to go to banks to withdraw money.
Overdraft and other facilities are available
Under the PM Jan Dhan Yojana, all account holders also get the facility of an overdraft of Rs 10,000 from their account. Under this scheme, people also get the benefit of accidental cover of Rs 2 lakh as well as insurance of Rs 2 lakh.
