Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM Kisan) scheme is being run to provide financial assistance to millions of farmers in the country.
Under this scheme, an amount of Rs 6,000 is sent directly to the bank accounts of farmers in three installments annually. Now farmers are eagerly waiting for the 18th installment.
When will the 18th installment come
The main objective of PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana is to provide financial assistance to small and marginal farmers.
Every year Rs 2,000 is deposited in the bank accounts of beneficiary farmers in three equal installments. So far 17 installments have been released and the 18th installment is going to be released soon.
According to media reports, the 18th installment may come in the bank accounts of farmers in October.
However, no official announcement has been made by the government in this regard yet, but the installment is expected to be released before Diwali.
Objectives and benefits of the scheme
This scheme is being run by the government to increase the income of farmers and make them self-reliant.
The annual assistance of Rs 6,000 under the PM Kisan scheme helps farmers buy clothes, fertilizers, seeds, etc. necessary for farming. So far, lakhs of farmers have benefited through this scheme.
Changes in the scheme and new rules
Recently, the government has implemented some new rules, under which it has been made mandatory for farmers to link their Aadhaar number to their bank account.
With this, only those farmers will be able to take advantage who have land papers and who are eligible.
The government is making every effort to make this scheme even more transparent so that the help can reach the right beneficiaries.
How to check your name

First of all, go to the official website of the scheme pmkisan.gov.in.
Click on the option of ‘beneficiary status’ on the home page.
After this enter your Aadhaar number or mobile number.
After clicking on the submit button, you will know whether your name is on the list of beneficiaries or not.
How to register a name in the scheme
If your name is not yet registered in the PM Kisan scheme and you want to become its beneficiary, then you can easily register for it online:
First of all, go to the website pmkisan.gov.in.
Click on the option of ‘New Farmer Registration’.
Fill in the required information, such as name, Aadhaar number, bank account details, etc.
Upload the required documents like an Aadhaar card, bank passbook, and land papers.
Now check all the information and finally click on submit.
