In recent years, the central government has launched many schemes, one of which is the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi. Under this scheme, beneficiaries receive money in three instalments. However, a big update has recently emerged. The question is whether both husband and wife or father and son can avail the benefits of PM Kisan Yojana. This article will provide the answer.
What is PM Kisan Yojana?
PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana is one of the central government’s key schemes aimed at supporting farmers. Under this scheme, farmers receive Rs 6,000 annually in three instalments of Rs 2,000 each. The money is transferred directly to the farmers’ bank accounts. This assistance is available to farmers who own up to 2 hectares of land. To be eligible, the applicant must be an Indian citizen.
When Are the PM Kisan Installments Released?
PM Kisan Yojana’s instalments are released as follows:
- First instalment: Between April and July
- Second instalment: Between August and November
- Third instalment: Between December and March
- So, the next instalment is expected to be released in the new year, 2025.
Can Both Husband-Wife or Father-Son Avail PM Kisan Benefits?
According to PM Kisan Yojana rules, only one member of the family can avail the benefits. Both husband and wife cannot receive the benefits together. If both apply, one application will be cancelled. Similarly, if a father and son or multiple members from the same family try to receive the benefit, the government may recover the amount.
