PM Kisan Samman Nidhi: The Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme is the world’s largest direct benefit transfer scheme. This scheme was launched in the year 2019 to meet the financial needs of farmers. It is a central sector scheme.

PM Modi recently released the 16th installment of this scheme. In the last five years, 11.8 crore farmers have benefited under the scheme. So far, Rs 2.81 lakh crore has been transferred to the bank accounts of farmers under this scheme. More than 11 crore farmers are getting benefits under this scheme.

Under this scheme, a financial benefit of Rs 6,000 per year in three equal installments (Rs 2000) every four months is transferred to the bank accounts of farmers in Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) mode. What is PM-Kisan Yojana:

PM-Kisan Yojana is a central sector scheme, which was launched by PM Modi on 24 February 2019. Under this scheme, assistance is provided by the government to meet the financial needs of the farmers.

Eligible for PM-Kisan Yojana:

Under this scheme, landholder farmer families, who have cultivable land in their name, are eligible to get benefits under the scheme. Small and marginal farmers with land up to 2 hectares are eligible under this scheme. Its objective is to provide financial assistance to farmers.

How many times will the benefit be available in a year?

Under PM-Kisan Yojana, financial benefit of Rs. 6000/- per year will be payable to all landholder farmer families per family in three equal installments (Rs 2000 each). In case of availing the benefit of this scheme on the basis of wrong declaration, the beneficiary will be liable for recovery and the transferred financial benefit and other punitive action can be taken as per the law.

How to check beneficiary status:

As mentioned above, the Government of India distributes a minimum income support amount of Rs 6000 per year in three installments. If a listed farmer has not received the amount as per the stipulated time, then they can check their status online in PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana.

Step 1 – Visit the official website of PMKSNY.

Step 2 – Click on “Beneficiary Status” under Farmer Corner.

Step 3 – Enter Aadhaar number, registered mobile number or bank account number and view the status.
