Over Rs 3.46 Lakh Crore Distributed in 18 Installments
Since its inception, the Government of India has distributed more than ₹3.46 lakh crore in 18 instalments under the PM-Kisan scheme. Ram Nath Thakur highlighted that during the release of the 18th instalment, over 9.58 crore beneficiaries received financial support.
Details of the 18th Installment Release
The 18th instalment of the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi was released on October 5, marking a significant event for farmers across the country. Prime Minister Modi, during his visit to Maharashtra, transferred ₹20,000 crore to approximately 9.4 crore farmers, offering them a financial gift during Navratri.
Financial Support Reaches Farmers Nationwide
Ram Nath Thakur said that PM-Kisan Yojana is a central sector scheme launched by the Prime Minister in February 2019 to meet the financial needs of farmers. He said that the farmer-centric digital infrastructure has ensured that the benefits of the scheme reach all the farmers across the country without the involvement of any middleman. Under this scheme, the financial benefit of Rs 6000 is transferred every year in three equal instalments through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) method to the bank accounts linked to the Aadhar card of the farmers.
