The central and state governments are implementing various schemes to boost farmers’ income across the country. Among these, the Government of India introduced the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana a few years ago. Under this scheme, the government provides financial assistance of ₹6,000 annually to small and marginal farmers. The primary objective of this initiative is to strengthen the rural economy and alleviate the financial challenges faced by farmers.
The financial assistance under the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana is transferred directly to farmers’ bank accounts through DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer). So far, 18 instalments have been released, delivering significant relief and support to farmers nationwide.
