PM Surya Ghar Yojna:- The central government is running many types of schemes for the needy people at this time. At the same time, the figure for rooftop installation under the Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Free Electricity Scheme is increasing continuously, and according to the information provided by the government, it has crossed 10 lakhs so far. This means that solar panels have been installed on the roofs of more than 10 lakh houses in the country.
In this scheme, the government provides free electricity for up to 300 units and a subsidy. Let us tell you that under this scheme launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on February 13, 2024, a target was set to install solar panels on the roofs of 1 crore houses by 2027.

Under the PM Surya Ghar Free Bijli Yojana, the government had announced an investment of 75,000 crores. In this, those who install solar panels on the roof of their houses will be given free electricity for up to 300 units and a subsidy. With 47.3 lakh applications received so far, this initiative has already given a subsidy of Rs 4,770 crore to 6.13 lakh beneficiaries.
Free electricity up to 300 units
The scheme’s main objective is to provide free electricity to the beneficiaries of up to 300 units. Under this scheme, solar panels are installed on the house’s roof, and the government also subsidises the cost.
How much subsidy is available?
When installing Solar Rooftop, the government transfers money directly to the bank account. The government gives a subsidy of Rs 30 thousand per kilowatt up to 2 kilowatts and Rs 48 thousand per kilowatt up to 3 kilowatts.
