PM Ujjwal Yojana: Till a few years ago, food was cooked only on stoves in villages. Due to which women’s health was adversely affected.

Stoves and coal-fired sigris gave many diseases to women. To get rid of this problem, the central government started the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana.

The Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana was started on 1 May 2016 under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This scheme provides free cooking gas to poor families. So that people of BPL families living in both rural and urban areas can get its benefit.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi started this scheme from Ballia district of Uttar Pradesh. In which gas connection is given free of cost to economically weaker families. Not only this, gas cylinders are given to women on subsidy so that they use LPG gas throughout the year.

Along with this, financial assistance of Rs 1600 is also given on taking the connection so that they can also buy other necessary things related to the gas connection. The government also provides EMI facility for buying gas stoves.

Today, through this article, we will know what is the eligibility for Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, how to apply and what are its benefits.

Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana was started with the aim of protecting women and creating a safe environment. In economically backward families, things like wood, cow dung cakes are used as fuel for cooking.

The smoke coming out of this is the root cause of many diseases. Poor families do not even have money to buy gas cylinders.

That is why Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana was launched. Not only this, the government left no stone unturned in promoting the scheme and motivating women to cook food in clean fuel.

In the beginning, the government gave the message to women through advertisements, street plays and posters. After which today many women are free from the smoke of the stove and are using LPG gas for cooking.
