To achieve this, the government launched the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana in 2016. Through this scheme, the Government of India provides free gas connections. Under the Government of India’s Ujjwala Scheme, only women from Below Poverty Line (BPL) households are eligible to receive benefits. To qualify for the scheme, the following conditions must be met:

  2. BPL Card: Women must have a valid BPL card.
  3. Linked Bank Account and Aadhaar: The beneficiary’s bank account must be linked to their Aadhaar card.

How to Apply for PM Ujjwala Yojana

Women can apply for the Ujjwala Yojana online. Follow these steps:

  1. Visit the Official Website: Go to www.pmuy.gov.in.
  2. Click ‘Apply for PMUY Connection’: On the homepage, click on the “Apply for PMUY Connection” option.
  3. Choose Your Gas Company: A new page will open, showing options for different gas companies. Select the gas company from which you want to get the cylinder.
  4. Fill in Your Details: Enter your name, distributor’s name, mobile number, address, pin code, and other required details.
  5. Submit the Application: Once you’ve filled out the form, click “Apply” to submit your application.
