PMAY: The district administration, following government directives, has initiated the Pradhan Mantri Urban Housing Scheme 2.0 in Gautam Buddha Nagar district as of Saturday. Families belonging to the middle class with a maximum annual income of nine lakhs are deemed eligible for this Urban Housing Scheme.

Additionally, specific income brackets have been established for other categories. For instance, families classified under the weaker income group must have an annual income of up to three lakh rupees, while those in the lower income group should have an income ranging from three to six lakh rupees.

Middle class families are defined as those with an annual income between six and nine lakh rupees. District Magistrate Manish Kumar Verma has directed the relevant officials to identify eligible individuals for the scheme and ensure they receive housing benefits.

According to Ved Prakash Pandey, the DUDA Project Officer-in-Charge, the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Urban Phase 2.0 is now operational in the district. This scheme allows urban poor and middle class families from low and middle income groups to apply for financial assistance for the construction, purchase, and rental of affordable housing in urban areas.

Families residing in urban locations without a permanent residence anywhere in the country qualify for the scheme. A beneficiary family is defined to include a husband, wife, and married children. Each beneficiary is eligible for only one scheme.
