Pradhan Mantri Internship: Applications for the second round of the Pradhan Mantri Internship Scheme (PMIS) have started again. The Ministry of Corporate Affairs has given this information by issuing a press release.

The ministry release said that applications have begun for the second round of the first phase of the Pradhan Mantri Internship Scheme. Under this, more than 1 lakh youth in 730 country districts will be provided internships in leading companies. This scheme is an important step to give the right opportunity to unemployed youth.

Youths between 21 and 24 years will get a chance

Under this scheme, internships will be provided to youth between 21 and 24 years, who are not in any full-time academic program or job. Let us tell you that this scheme was announced by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in the budget of July 2024.

The objective behind launching this scheme is to provide the right opportunity to unemployed youth. Under this scheme, 1 crore youth will get the opportunity to do internships in top companies to prepare them for employment. This will help the youth to give a new direction to their career.

Applications started in October for the first round

The first round of the pilot phase of the Pradhan Mantri Internship Scheme was started on 3 October 2024 and companies were registering internship opportunities on the pminternship.mca.gov.in portal. During this, more than 6 lakh youth of the country had applied, the last date of which was 15 November 2024. This enthusiasm of the youth shows the success of this scheme.

Easy online process

To apply in the second round of this scheme, the interested candidate has to create a profile on the website and apply for internships in various fields. In the second round of application, candidates can apply for 3 internships till the last date of application. The last date of application is 12 March 2025.

Assistance of ₹5000 every month

Under this, they will get an internship for 12 months, as well as ₹5000 every month. Apart from this, a one-time grant of ₹6000 will be given after the completion of the internship. The estimated cost of the pilot project of the scheme is around ₹800 crores, the internship will start in December. Internships will be given in more than 500 top companies through this scheme. It will also help the youth financially.

Insurance coverage for interns

Under this scheme, insurance coverage is given to each trainee by the Government of India under Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana and Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana. Apart from this, the company also gives additional accident insurance coverage to the interns. It provides a safe environment for the youth.
