The government provides ration cards to ensure that the underprivileged and needy individuals in the country can access essential goods at affordable prices. Recently, the e-KYC process has become a requirement for all ration card holders. Those who fail to complete the e-KYC will not be able to benefit from the ration card program.

Reasons for Making Ration Card E-KYC Mandatory

The government aims to ensure that the benefits of the ration card are exclusively available to those who truly need them. By implementing the e-KYC process, the government seeks to prevent ineligible individuals from exploiting the free ration system. Currently, there are many individuals who are not entitled to these benefits but are still receiving free rations.
