Ration Card eKYC: Chief Minister Yogi has provided significant relief to ration card holders in Uttar Pradesh by extending the deadline for e-KYC registration once again. The state government has granted an additional two months for this process, making it compulsory for all cardholders to complete the e-KYC for every family member.
Effort to offer free ration assistance
This initiative is part of the government’s effort to offer free ration assistance to economically disadvantaged individuals. Beneficiaries have been receiving free rations, and in line with government directives, ration card holders are required to complete the e-KYC for each individual listed on their card to continue receiving these benefits. The previous deadline was set for February 28, but the government has now extended this date to May 31 for those who have not yet completed the e-KYC process.
Instructions to ensure KYC
Authorities have issued firm instructions to ensure that 100% of cardholder units complete their KYC. This measure aims to eliminate irregularities within the supply department, necessitating the KYC for every registered member on the ration card. As many districts have not yet completed the KYC process, the government is providing a final opportunity to fulfill this requirement by May 31.
Innumerable individuals have profited. However, there were claims of corruption in either the ration procurement or distribution procedures. After that, the government took over. The administration wants to make sure that the appropriate people receive their ration. Increased openness on who is receiving the ration and whether it is reaching the correct individual is anticipated if eKYC is implemented.
