Another major news is here for Ration Card holders. Some people will not be able to get ration 1 April. Yes you’ve heard it right. Once the new BJP government took charge in Delhi, they quickly got to work on a bunch of pending projects. One of the latest updates is the launch of e-KYC for ration cards in the city, which was last done back in 2013.

If you hold a ration card in Delhi, it’s important to complete the e-KYC process as soon as you can. Here’s how you can go about it.

How to Complete e-KYC for Delhi Ration Card

There are two ways for Delhi ration card holders to complete their e-KYC. First, you can visit a ration shop in Delhi and use a POS machine. With this machine, you can complete the e-KYC using your fingerprint and an OTP. Just make sure to bring your Aadhaar card, ration card, proof of address, and a passport-sized photo.

Alternatively, you can also do the e-KYC from the comfort of your home using the “Mera e-KYC” app. Keep in mind that the deadline for this is March 31, 2025, so make sure to finish the process before then. If you miss this deadline, you might not be able to receive your ration, and you could lose access to benefits from the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojana and other government programs.

Currently, there are over 17.41 lakh ration card holders in Delhi, and the city has a total of 1,971 ration shops.
