New Ration Card Rules
As you may know, the government has established three types of ration cards for individuals living below or at the poverty line. Keep in mind that the rules governing each of these cards differ.
Families with ration cards that don’t meet eligibility requirements are facing a serious risk. If their cards are deemed invalid, they could lose their benefits starting next month, according to new government regulations.
Here are the latest updates on ration card rules from the Food Security Ministry:
1. Ration card holders must complete KYC verification for their cards.
2. Without KYC, they won’t be able to access food grains or other services.
3. Ration card holders without a food grain slip won’t be able to receive their ration.
4. It’s now required for all family members’ Aadhaar card details to be linked to the ration card.
5. Those who haven’t opened a bank account need to do so as soon as possible.
