IPL 2025: Now only two days are left for the start of IPL 2025. Before the start of this league, there is good news for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), where left-handed batsman Devdutt Padikkal opened his hands in the practice match and played a stormy innings of 82 runs in just 48 balls. His innings is also important because Padikal is the only left-handed batsman in RCB’s top order.
Let us tell you that Padikkal started his IPL career five years ago. Then he made his debut for RCB and in the very first season, he scored 473 runs in 15 matches at an average of 31.53, which included five half-centuries. He continued to play for RCB the following year as well and scored 411 runs at an average of 31.61, including a brilliant century.
Devdutt entered Rajasthan in 2022
The next year i.e. in 2022, RCB released him, after which he joined Rajasthan Royals, where this franchise bought him for Rs 7.75 crore. This season, he scored 376 runs in 17 matches at an average of 22.12, which included one half-century.

Padikkal played for LSG last year
Padikkal was traded by Lucknow Super Giants in the year 2024, but this season was challenging for him. He scored only 38 runs in 7 matches at an average of 5.43, due to which the team did not retain him. In the mega auction last year, RCB has once again included him in their team.
