Monthly SIP Investment: People from all parts are now looking to invest more for extra income. Even a few years ago, people mostly liked to invest in banks or post office schemes. But now time has changed. The interest rates in bank of Post Office schemes are not enough to satisfy people. So many of us are in search of investing somewhere else where we can get extra benefits. SIP is getting more popular over the past few months. Monthly SIPs reached Rs 25,323 crore this month. A month earlier, in September 2024, it was Rs 24,509 crore.

In equity categories, all 11 categories saw inflows during the month. Sectoral and thematic funds saw the highest inflows in October 2024. About Rs 12,278 crore was invested in these. Flexi cap funds saw an inflow of Rs 5,180 crore against an inflow of Rs 3,214 crore in September. It was observed that two categories, focused funds and ELSS funds, which had been drawing withdrawals for the last six months, saw inflows in October. Rs 693 crore was invested in the focused fund and Rs 383 crore in the ELSS fund. In October, all debt mutual fund categories, except medium term and credit risk funds, saw inflows. Liquid funds saw the highest inflow of Rs 83,863 crore, followed by overnight funds at Rs 25,783 crore.

Hybrid mutual fund categories rose 244% to Rs 16,863 crore

Total inflows in hybrid mutual fund categories rose 244% to Rs 16,863 crore in October, compared to Rs 4,901 crore in September. Net inflows into the ‘others’ category, including index funds and ETFs, rose 620% to Rs 23,428 crore in October from Rs 3,254 crore in September. During the said period, investments were made in all four categories. The total assets under management (AUM) of mutual funds reached an all-time high of Rs 66.98 lakh crore during October 2024. This was Rs 66.82 lakh crore in September, a month ago. This shows a slight increase of 0.25%.
