New Delhi: The new toll policy will be a great relief for the commoner. To solve the problems related to tolls in national highways and expressways, the proposed new toll policy will provide relief of up to 50 percent on the average fee. It will give the people the facility of an annual pass at a lump sum cost of Rs 3,000.
This pass will be valid only on national highways, expressways, and state expressways. Most importantly, there will be no need to get a separate pass for this. The fee can be paid only through the Fastag account. The new toll policy is entirely ready but has not been officially announced. People traveling on national highways will benefit from this.
Once the pass is issued, the vehicle will run for 12 months
The new toll policy prepared by the government will be a boon for ordinary people. It will be based on the fixed fee per kilometer instead of the arrangements of toll plazas. For example, a fee of Rs 50 for a vehicle for a hundred kilometers will be required.
According to sources associated with the formulation of the new toll policy, currently only monthly passes are issued. These greatly help local people who want to cross the toll plaza. The most important thing is that by obtaining a pass of Rs 3,000, one will not have to pay any fee on the expressway or highway for a month. This will also increase government revenue.
How will it be compensated?
Do you know that the major obstacle was the existing contracts of concessionaires and contractors? There is no provision for such a facility in them. If sources are to be believed, the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has fully agreed to compensate for the loss to overcome their objections. Concessionaires will also keep a digital record of the vehicles passing through their toll plazas. There will be a difference between their claims and actual recovery.
