Maiya Samman Yojana: Big news has come on the Maiyan Samman Yojana. Women can expect to see the Rs 2500 installment for January hit their accounts on either the 28th or 29th. There was a hiccup with the Maiyan Samman Yojana portal this month, which delayed the funds. A new requirement has been introduced: women must now have an Aadhar card to benefit from the scheme. If they don’t have one yet, they’ll need to get it sorted before applying.

The Maiya Samman Yojana was launched to empower women in Jharkhand by Hemant Soren’s government. Initially, it provided Rs 1,000 monthly to eligible women starting in August 2024. Before the Jharkhand assembly elections, Chief Minister Hemant Soren announced an increase to Rs 2500.

After winning a strong majority in December, the government is believed to have benefited from the popularity of the Maiya Samman Yojana, which helped secure the coalition’s return to power. Once back in office, the Hemant government kept its promise to women by raising the monthly support to Rs 2500 and transferring the fifth installment in January 2025.

The Women and Child Development and Social Security Department has announced that the funds from the Yojana will now be distributed directly to beneficiaries at the district level. They have instructed the districts to make sure that the funds are credited to the beneficiaries’ accounts by the 15th of each month. Additionally, the number of beneficiaries for the Yojana has risen from 56,61,791 to 58,14,637.
