Good news for women. The Maiya Samman Yojana funds in Jharkhand are set to be distributed before Holi, with the Women, Child Development and Social Security Department working hard to make it happen. However, many beneficiaries still have their bank accounts unlinked to Aadhaar, so the money will be transferred after verifying their ration cards. Payments for January and February will be combined, and the transfer process will kick off after March 8. Everyone should receive their funds in time for Holi.

This initiative is part of the Jharkhand government’s efforts. The Maiya Samman Yojana provides financial support to women. Previously, beneficiaries received their payments in December 2024, but the government then instructed all districts to confirm the eligibility of recipients. To qualify for this scheme, applicants must be residents of Jharkhand and possess a voter ID, Aadhaar card, ration card, and a bank account linked to Aadhaar. The government had eased one requirement until December, allowing beneficiaries without Aadhaar-linked bank accounts to receive their payments.

This issue is the main reason people haven’t received any money since January. Right now, a lot of beneficiaries still haven’t linked their bank accounts to Aadhaar. The department had even come up with a plan to ease this requirement until March, but no decision has been made yet. So, the department can go ahead and transfer funds based on ration cards instead. Over 40 lakh beneficiaries’ ration cards have been verified in the state, confirming that they are valid and that the beneficiaries live in Jharkhand.

The money distribution is set to kick off after March 8. Payments for both January and February will be issued together. They’re aiming to ensure everyone gets their money before Holi, and funds for March will also be released soon. The department is moving quickly to get this done.
