December month is coming. And the new month means a change in the rules of different things. This time will be no exception. Like every month, on the first day of December, there are going to be many changes, including the price of LPG gas cylinders and credit card rules, which will have a positive and negative impact on the common man’s pocket and life. In order to prevent the most special scams and phishing activities, TRAI is going to implement a new rule from 1 December 2025, after which you will not get fake OTP and unwanted commercial messages.
Gas cylinder prices may change in December
The price of LPG changes on the 1st of every month. Along with the prices of LPG cylinders, oil market companies revise the prices of air turbine fuel (ATF), CNG, and PNG every month. In October, gas companies had increased the price of a 19 kg commercial LPG cylinder by Rs 48, but there was no change in the price of domestic gas cylinders. Earlier, in the months of August and September, the price of commercial LPG cylinders had increased. The price of commercial LPG cylinders was increased by Rs 8.50 in August and Rs 39 in September.
Changes in SBI’s credit card rules
The State Bank of India (SBI), the country’s largest bank, is now going to change the credit card rules from December. From December 1, 2024, its 48 credit cards will not offer reward points on transactions related to digital gaming platforms or merchandise.
Even before this, many rules were changed on 1 November 2024. This includes SBI’s decision to charge 1% extra on utility bill payments of more than Rs 50,000 in a statement cycle through credit card; however, no extra charge will be charged on utility bill payments below Rs 50,000.
Changes in TRAI rules
In fact, a major decision has been taken by TRAI towards implementing the traceability rule related to commercial messages and OTPs. Telecom companies had time till October 31 to implement the traceability of TRAI OTP messages. After the demand of Jio, Airtel, Vi, and BSNL, the company extended its deadline till 31 November.
Now that its deadline is going to end in November, telecom companies will have to implement traceability rules to track commercial messages and OTP messages. The last date for implementing this rule is now set to be fixed on December 1. Recently, a new order was given to all telecom operators by TRAI. It states that they publish all information related to the availability of the network on the website.
