The Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana is helping beneficiaries realize their dream of owning a home. The selection process for beneficiaries is being conducted with full transparency. The government is dedicated to identifying those who genuinely qualify for the benefits of this initiative, ensuring that as many people as possible can take advantage of it.
In this initiative, beneficiaries are chosen based on a survey, where their information is collected online via mobile devices right at their homes. So far, 619 surveys have been completed across 1,811 gram panchayats in Azamgarh.
Some essential and significant updates have been introduced for the beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. As part of these changes, it is now mandatory to use the Aadhaar card numbers of all family members in the application process.
For the first time, Artificial Intelligence (AI) is being utilized to assess the beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. In this process, the village secretary will upload photos, and if a brick structure is detected, it will be automatically flagged by the AI system.
The use of artificial intelligence in the survey aims to prevent any fraudulent activities and ensure that the rightful beneficiaries receive the benefits of the scheme. The second phase of this initiative is expected to be completed by March 31.
In addition to AI software, AI cameras will be employed during the survey. These will not only scan the beneficiaries’ retinas but also assess the condition of their homes. If the software identifies concrete walls in an applicant’s house, their name will be automatically removed from the eligibility list.
A three-tier survey system has been established for the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. The first level will involve AI verification, followed by a second level where district officials will conduct further checks, and finally, block officials will carry out the third level of verification. This means that only applicants with kutcha houses will qualify for the benefits of this scheme.
