Sarkari Scheme: If you enjoy gardening, you can cultivate vegetables and fruits in containers on your house’s rooftop. You will receive a subsidy from the Bihar government for rooftop gardening. Under the Rooftop Gardening Scheme 2024-25, a 75 percent subsidy will be provided for the scheme. Residents of the urban regions of Patna, Gaya, Muzaffarpur, and Bhagalpur can take advantage of this scheme. Through the government Yojana, Bihar’s farmers are receiving a necessary support, getting advancements in agriculture, cultivate fresh produce including vegetables and fruits, even in confined areas.
According to this program, if farmers invest 10 thousand rupees in gardening, they will receive a subsidy of 7,500 rupees. Tulsi, Ashwagandha, mint, aloe vera, stevia, and others can be cultivated in a 10-inch container. In addition to this, snake plant, money plant, roses, and moonlight plant can be cultivated in a 12-inch pot.

Erica palm, Aparajita, curry leaves, bougainvillea, and others can be grown in a 14-inch pot. In a 16-inch pot, one can plant guava, mango, lemon, sapota, banana, and rubber. In addition to this, farmers can obtain information about this scheme by going to the nearest agricultural centers.
Eligibility criteria
= This scheme is available for both the residents of urban areas and farmers.
= The applicant should have a terrace in an urban area, which is suitable for gardening.
= There should be adequate space (at least 100-200 square feet) for terrace gardening.
= To avail the benefits of the scheme, the interested person will have to register in this scheme.
