What is SBI Asha Scholarship Scheme

SBI Asha Scholarship Scheme is a scheme launched by SBI Foundation under which economically weaker students can apply and take the scholarship amount. The objective of introducing this scheme is to help economically weaker students get higher education.

This scheme has been specially introduced for students whose families are not in good financial condition and who are unable to complete their children’s studies due to lack of adequate financial resources. Under this scheme, students from class VI to XII can apply.

The applicant is given a scholarship of up to Rs 70000. This scholarship amount varies depending on the class level and type of course chosen by the students. The scholarship is directly transferred to the bank account of student.

Who can apply?

  • Only students who are native residents of India can apply under the SBI Asha Scholarship Scheme.
  • Students from class 6 to class 12 can apply under this scheme.
  • Only those whose annual family income is less than ₹3 lakh can apply under this scheme.
  • Students studying in the college can also apply under this scheme.
  • The annual income of the family of the students studying in the college should be less than 6 lakhs.
  • To get the scholarship amount under this scheme, the student needs to score more than 75% in the previous academic year.

What documents will be required?

Students applying under the SBI Asha Scholarship Scheme will have to submit certain required documents. These required documents include Aadhaar card, income certificate, caste certificate, residence certificate, current mobile number, bank passbook, passport size photograph.
