Many financial rules changed on March 1, and more will be updated from April 1. This includes changes to IDFC First Bank and SBI credit card rules. IDFC First Bank has announced that several annual benefits, including milestone ticket vouchers, will be discontinued on March 31. Meanwhile, SBI Card has also made changes to its Club Vistara SBI and Club Vistara SBI Prime Credit Cards. Let’s understand these updates in detail.
IDFC First Bank Changes
Private sector bank IDFC First Bank has announced the discontinuation of milestone ticket vouchers, renewal benefits, and other features from March 31, 2025. However, cardholders can continue earning Maharaja Points until March 31, 2026, when the card will be fully closed.
According to the bank, Club Vistara Silver membership will no longer be available, and complimentary vouchers, including one premium economy ticket and one class upgrade voucher, will also be discontinued. Additionally, milestone vouchers for premium economy tickets will no longer be issued. For those who renew their cards after March 31, 2025, the annual fee will be waived for one year.
SBI Credit Card Rule Changes
Similarly, economy ticket vouchers will no longer be available for Club Vistara SBI credit cardholders. Milestone benefits for annual spends of Rs 1.25 lakh, Rs 2.5 lakh, and Rs 5 lakh will also be discontinued. The Club Vistara SBI Prime Credit Card will no longer offer its premium economy ticket voucher. Additionally, the renewal fee for the base card will be Rs 1,499, while the renewal fee for the Prime card will be Rs 2,999. However, customers will have the option of a fee waiver. These changes will take effect on April 1, 2025.
Changes After the Vistara-Air India Merger
These rule changes follow the merger of Vistara and Air India in November last year, which resulted in updates to the loyalty programs under Air India’s Maharaja Club. As a result, IDFC First Bank and SBI Cards have announced new rules. However, Axis Bank and IndusInd Bank have not yet made any changes to the rules for their co-branded credit cards.
