Major good news for state government employees. The Telangana government has given big suprise to RTC employees. The Revanth Reddy government has been sticking to its election promises, and they’ve just shared some good news for RTC employees. Minister Ponnam Prabhakar announced a 2.5% hike in their dearness allowance.

This increase will set the RTC back by Rs. 3.6 crore each month. Under the Mahalakshi scheme, over 150 crore women in Telangana have been enjoying free rides on RTC buses. The total cost for these journeys is estimated to be around Rs. 5 thousand crore.

In a nice gesture ahead of the Holi festival, the Telangana government has decided to boost the DA for Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) employees. Minister Ponnam Prabhakar made the announcement on Friday, March 7, confirming the 2.5% increase.

Additionally, the government is set to roll out the Indira Mahila Shakti scheme in honor of International Women’s Day. They’re starting with 150 rented buses operated by the Mandal Mahila Samakhya Sangam, with plans to expand that number to 600. This initiative is all about empowering women, and CM Revanth Reddy will officially launch these buses on Saturday.

A total of 40,000 employees from the Telangana RTC are set to benefit from this increase in DA. This boost is aimed at enhancing public transport services and rewarding the hard work of the employees. There’s also a chance that more incentives for these RTC workers will be rolled out soon. On top of that, the government is planning to add more electric buses and introduce new tech for the bus ticketing system.

The first initiative launched by the Telangana Congress government after taking office was the ‘Mahalakshmi’ scheme, which offers free bus travel for women. The Revanth Sarkar has been fulfilling its promises and has recently raised the DA for RTC employees. Initially, they provided free bus services, followed by a 500 kg gas cylinder scheme, free electricity up to 200 units, and various farmer support programs. The process for Indiramma Houses is also nearing completion, with Rs. 5 lakhs being allocated to those who own land and a house.
