Good news for government employees. Again State government increase Dearness Allowance of employees. The Jharkhand government has given the green light to a 7% hike in the dearness allowance (DA) for its employees as of Tuesday. An official mentioned that this increase will take effect from July 1 of the previous year.

 

According to the Sixth Central Pay Commission, employees will now receive a DA of 246% based on their current basic salary, up from the previous 239%. This decision was made during a cabinet meeting led by Chief Minister Hemant Soren.

 

The dearness allowance has been bumped up by 7% to 246%

 

Pensioners under the Sixth Pay Commission will also see their Dearness Relief (DR) rise by 7% to match the new 246% DA, up from 239%. Joint Cabinet Secretary Rajiv Ranjan informed the media that for government employees under the Fifth Pay Commission, the DA will increase from 443% to 455%, effective July 1, 2024. In addition to the DA increase, the cabinet approved a total of 12 proposals.

The cabinet has also agreed to allow women workers to take on night shifts in factories, provided they consent. They can now work from 7 PM to 6 AM.

 

Additionally, the cabinet has approved the Factory Amendment Bill-2024, which is part of the Ease of Doing Business and Business Reform Action Plan from the Ministry of Commerce and Industry.

 

There’s also a proposal to amend the selection and honorarium rules for Anganwadi Sevika and Sahayika. Another proposal includes special exemptions for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in the state.
