A big update is revealed regarding one of the most popular govt schemes. To support women’s economic security, the Odisha Government offers financial aid through various programs, including the ‘Subhadra Yojana.’ However, there have been some recent updates that have left many people frustrated due to delays in this initiative.
Currently, over 20 lakh women in Odisha are benefiting from this scheme. Officials have noted that the delays are mainly due to the ongoing verification process. Initially, funds were expected to be deposited into women’s accounts by December 25, 2024, but that timeline has now been pushed back.
Under the Subhadra Yojana, women receive direct financial assistance of Rs 5,000 in their bank accounts. So far, more than Rs 1,000 crore has been allocated to this program. In Sundargarh district alone, 4.59 lakh women have signed up, with 3.37 lakh already receiving the first installment of the third phase. This initiative aims to empower women and promote self-reliance.
The final date for document verification is December 30, 2024. If all documents are verified by that date, the funds will be transferred to the women’s accounts in January. To qualify for this scheme, women need to have an Aadhaar card and a bank account number.
