The Indian stock market typically takes a break on Saturdays and Sundays. However, this Saturday, February 1st, it will be open for trading. This is because Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is set to present the general budget on that day. The National Stock Exchange (NSE) has confirmed that the market will operate from 9:15 AM to 3:30 PM.

So, when can you trade on Saturday? Usually, the market is closed on the weekend, but it opens on special occasions like budget day. In fact, the market was also open on Saturdays during the budget presentations on February 1, 2020, and February 28, 2015. If you’re looking to make trades before the budget announcement, the market will be available from 9:00 AM to 9:08 AM.

Additionally, the BSE index will be active on February 1, 2025, as it has been designated a special trading day for the Union Budget 2025-26, with regular trading hours in effect.
