The market will remain closed on Guru Nanak Jayanti

The stock market will remain closed on November 15 (Friday) due to Guru Nanak Jayanti. Guru Nanak Gurpurab is also known as Guru Nanak Prakash Utsav. It celebrates the birth of the first Sikh Guru of the Sikh community – Guru Nanak. He laid the foundation of Sikhism. There is a national holiday on this occasion. Banks and other public institutions remain closed on this day. There will also be a holiday in the stock market on this day.

Closure for Maharashtra Elections

The stock market will remain closed on 20 November (Wednesday) due to the Maharashtra assembly elections. On this day, voting will be held on 288 seats in the state. The counting of votes will be done on 23 November. Maharashtra contributes about 14 per cent to India’s gross domestic product (GDP). Maharashtra’s importance increases from this point of view as well.

Children’s Day on 14 November: Market Open

The birth anniversary of India’s first Prime Minister, Jawaharlal Nehru, is celebrated on November 14 as Children’s Day. This day promotes awareness about children’s rights, education, and welfare. However, the stock market will remain open on this day, and trading will continue as usual.

Market Closed on 25 December for Christmas

In December, the stock market will be closed on Wednesday, December 25, in addition to the weekly holiday. The day marks Christmas, the most significant festival of the Christian community, celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ. Christmas is observed as a public holiday in many countries worldwide.
